How to Think of a New Site Niche

By o2smedia | Nov 14, 2007

So you want to start a new site and find a niche to get into but not to sure what to do…well 1st off, it is good to do something you enjoy or have intrest in. only becuase…it will drive you to keep it going….NOT that you have to BUT it is a good way to start off.

if you are passed this and just want to try to cash in on something…its just a matter of picking a niche that people are  looking for. What i like to do just ranomly type in things into the Overture keyword suggestions just to see what people search for  http://inventory.overture.com, keep in mind what ever you get on here google gets about 3x the searches. or the Google one is https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox

the google search reall does not tell you how many searches but it does tell you the avg bid which can help you choose what is popular…higher bid = popular

I also like to use Google Trends which is more of a real time interest that occurs online. http://www.google.com/trends

the only thing is is tends to be very media driven..so what was on the news is likley to be what you will in here..what i do like is it helps you pin point trends to specfic areas.

CREATIVITY!!! It’s all about being creative and thinking outside the box. Open up your eyes and look at everything around you. I can probably bet that everyone will find a niche if they simply go out one Saturday afternoon and engage their eyes and ears.
